What's a cookie (the boring kind)?

A cookie is a small text file a website saves on your device. It can't see your files, can't install anything, and — we checked extensively — contains zero butter. It just helps the site remember things, like what's in your cart.

The cookies we use

1. Essential cookies (the load-bearing ones)

These make the store function. The most important one remembers what's in your bag — without it, your carefully built 6-pack would vanish between pages, and nobody deserves that. Essential cookies also handle secure checkout and basic site operation. They can't be switched off without breaking the shop, which is why they're called essential and not optional.

2. Analytics cookies (the curious ones)

Set by Shopify, our store platform, these tell us things like which pages people visit and which flavors get the most longing stares. They help us make the site better. They do not know who you are personally — just that someone looked at the s'mores cones four times today. (No judgment. We've all been there.)

3. Marketing cookies (the matchmaker ones)

If we run ads or you arrive via one, these help us know our marketing is working. They're the most optional of the bunch.

Managing cookies

Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies in its settings (usually under Privacy). Two honest warnings:

• Blocking essential cookies will break the cart and checkout. The site will still look pretty; it just won't sell you chocolate, which defeats the purpose of everyone involved.
• Deleting cookies signs you out of most websites, not just ours.
